Mr Peter Obi
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections has said his academic records are open for public scrutiny following the ongoing certificate saga of President Bola Tinubu.
While fielding questions from journalists on Wednesday in Abuja, Obi said; “I will make sure I circulate my CV (Curriculum Vitae) before leaving (the press conference) and I can claim to be an alumnus of some of those schools I went to for trainings among which include Lagos Business School, Oxford University, Cambridge, George Business School…
“So, these are no longer private to me. All my programmes are documented and are open for verification”.
The former Anambra governor maintained that having occupied the highest political office in the country, President Tinubu no longer has a right to any privacy regarding his identity.
The former Vice President had requested the release of President Tinubu’s certificate from the Chicago State University over the suspicion that the certificate the former Lagos State governor submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may not be authentic.
During a press conference last week after Tinubu’s academic records were released to him, Atiku who is challenging Tinubu’s election, called on Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other Nigerians to join his quest for “justice” over the matter.
Atiku also vowed not to stop on the issue as he said he would continue to seek justice over the matter.
As at press time, Tinubu is yet to react to the ongoing certificate saga despite calls by many Nigerians for him to clear the air on the allegations. (Nigerian Tribune)
