A bad portion on Ikorodu Road at Ketu in Lagos State
The State Government has said that it would divert traffic from Iyana Ipaja Road to facilitate the redirection of storm water and the construction ofcross culvert at FunmilayoBus Stop and upstream of Kushoro/Igbayilola Streets in Agege Local Government Area of the state.
The government in a statement by Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, Lagos State said that the traffic diversion would commence from Saturday, September 23 through November 30, 2023.
Osiyemi stated that this was part of the government’s effort to address the flooding problem in the area.
The government said traffic from Iyana Ipaja heading towards Oke Koto axis would be diverted after the Mulero Street intersection to the outward lane for counter flow and would return to the original lane at the next median opening during the construction period.
Besides, it said traffic from Agbotikuyo/Oke Koto axis heading towards Iyana Ipaja would be required to merge into one lane to accommodate counter flow and would revert back to two lanes after passing the Ibile Oil and Gas Petrol Filling Station at the Arige Street intersection.
The government advised motorists to exercise patience, saying that the diversion and lane merging were part of the traffic management plans aimed at eliminating flooding.(Daily Independent)
