Intercepted drugs

The Nigeria Police, Kebbi State Command, has intercepted two trucks with compressed Indian hem worth N600miilioalong a border road of Kebbi State from Ghana, en-route the Republic of Benin.
The State Command Spokesperson Nafi’u Abubakar during a press briefing at the Command Headquarter in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday, September 14, 2023, said the cartel were nabbed ferrying the drugs loaded in containers with registration numbers Lagos T-21608 LA and Lagos T-21520 LA along Maje-Tsamiya District of Bagudo Local Government of Kebbi state.
He said: “The two trucks were intercepted on the 10th of September 2023 by the men of the Kebbi police command attach to border patrol team at Maje-Tsamiya in Bagudo LG.
“After searching the two trucks compressed Indian hem suspected to be cannabis sativa of 4,927 parcels, 7,500 live shotgun cartridges and 4,906 another parcels of compressed Indian hemp all recovered in the two trucks.
“The first truck was intercepted with 4,927 parcels of compressed Indian and arrest three suspects, driver and two others namely: Emmanuel Chukwuma of Bende local government, Abia state, Kanta Bisa of Asaka Local government, Ghana and Shola Adeyemi of Olufan, Akure local government, Ondo state all the same truck and was coming from Ghana to Togo to Benin Republic and then cross Nigerian border via Bagudo LG.
“Similarly, on the 12th September, 2023 at about 2130hrs, the same dedicated, courageous and very hardworking team of Police Border patrol, intercepted and recovered another container truck with Reg No. IT 21608 LA, Lagos State, with 7,500 live cartridges. In view of that, one Abdulrazak Agboola ‘m’ of Iyana Ajiya area of Ibadan, Oyo State was arrested.
“During preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to have been hired by yet to be identified people to convey the recovered exhibits to Lagos State from the Republic of Ghana.”
“Investigation currently ongoing to arrest their accomplices”, he added.
