Armed-bandits
Suspicious kidnappers abducted ten people along Ajaokuta/Okene road area of Kogi State.
The kidnap victims were passengers ofBenue Links buses traveling from Makurdi to Lagos on Sunday afternoon.
Suspended gunmen were said to have laid ambush on the two vehicles, intercepted them, and led ten passengers into the bush.
The incident was said to have happened between 2:00 and 3:00 pm on Sunday along Ajaokuta/Okene road.
Benue Links is a state government-owned transport company.
A Benue Links transport company official who did not want to be mentioned because he was not authorized to do so confirmed to our correspondent on the phone on Monday.
He said, “It is true the incident happened along Ajaokuta/Okene road yesterday between 2:00 and 3:00 pm. Two vehicles were involved, and ten passengers were abducted, The incident was reported at Adogo Police station near Okene.”
The official appealed to government to beef up security along the road for adequate surveillance/ (Nigerian Tribune)
