The trend of breaking Guinness World Records in Nigeria continues as John Obot of Uyo Book club would be attempting to break the record for the longest reading marathon.
The record formerly held by Turkish Rysbai Isakov is set to be broken by John Obot.
Here are eight things to know about his record breaking attempt:
1.The former record was set at 124 hours in 2022 byRysbai Isakov.
2. The reading marathon will start September 9, 2023 and is expected to end September 15, 2023.
3. Obot got a confirmation email from Guinness World Record before starting his attempt.
4. The reading marathon will take place at the city view hall, watbridge hotel and suites, Uyo.
5. The reading aloud marathon can be seen live on Facebook @John Obot Reads Aloud
6. He is attempting to go on for 145 hours ‘uninterrupted’
7. The books for the marathon will be provided by Uyo book club.
8. As at the time of writing the reading marathon has lasted 3 hours.(The Nation)
