Footage of childless Anurika confronting her father recently in Nibo, Awka
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
A woman whose name was given as Anurika has openly accused her father of being responsible for her childlessness in her six years marriage.
Anurika in a video trending on social media introduced herself as an indigene of Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State said she is not a social media person, but decided to use the platform to announce her plight so that people can advise her.
In the video, the woman was seen in her father’s compound in the village lamenting her plight after handing over phone to someone to video her.
She went round showing her father’s inner chamber were there were clay pots and other charms, which her father kept at different locations in the compound, as well as some parcels of charms hanging by the wall.
The woman also went to the sitting room where she said: “Look at all these things here. This is what my father have used to destroy her children and caged me, her daughter from having a child.
“I’ve been married for six years, no cry of a baby. My father has killed me. This is why my mother left. My mother-in-law is beginning to hate me and my husband no longer loves me. My marriage is about to crash.”
She further went to her father who was calling her to calm down and asked him why he has chosen to the her from having children and her father responded by saying he was oblivious of what she was saying.
He added: “I don’t know what you are talking about. It is you people that are being unfair to me by abandoning me, without care or even sending me money for upkeep.”
Anurika also revealed that she had visited many spiritual leaders, different churches and fortune tellers and all of them pointed accusing finger at her father, saying that he was responsible for her inability to get pregnant.
According to her, the family members of her husband have not only hated her because of her barrenness, but have also begun to call her all manner of names and subject her to different kinds of humiliation.
She added: “Papa you must tell me what I did to you that made you to tie my womb and render me childless. How could you be such wicked, Papa? How could you do this to your own biological daughter?
“You must release me and my womb today, Papa. You must destroy those charms you used to tie my womb. I’m not going anywhere unless you release me. Have I ever done anything wrong to you, Papa? I love you, and you know I love you. So, why would you hate me like this, to the extent of tying my womb, and rendering me childless?” she uncomfortably queried.
Some neighbours who heard the noise and rushed to the compound for intervention were seen calming and pacifying between Anurika and her father, while she still raged in disappointments and discomfort.
She also turned down the efforts of the two male neighbours who came to soothe her, and accused them of being accomplices to her father and being the people who deceive and lure her father to the herbalist who prepares charms for him
The neighbours, on their own part described Anurika’s father as a well-respected man in the society and could not do such thing he was being accused of.
They, however, told him to open up and say the truth, if he knew anything about his daughter’s predicament or has hands on it.
