The kidnap suspects

The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested three kidnap kingpin suspects and rescued two of their kidnapped victims.
The rescued victims include; lnspector Ogbonnaya Oliver Nkama, attached to police detective college, Enugu and Mr Paul Ngara, the village Chairman of Ngwogwogwo lshiagu in the Ivo Local government Area of the state.
A statement on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, gave the Names of the suspects as Elochukeu Ojukwu (aka Alhaji), Bula lliyasu, and Umaru Ahijo (aka Gunner).
According to the statement, operatives of the Command immediately swung into action following intelligence report of their hideout which situated between the boundary of Amata Ishiagu and Lokpanta in Abia State was invaded.
The suspects on sighting the Police operatives open fire on them but were subsequently overpowered by the superior firepower of the police.
The statement stated that during the gun duel, one of the suspects was neutralized, two of the victims were rescued unhurt and three of the hoodlums were arrested unharmed.
Items recovered from them include; Two AK 47 rifles, one Long Double barrel gun, forty -five AK 47 live ammunition, and seventy live cartridges.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Augustina Ogbodo, warned criminals to either desist from crime or relocate as the Command is working round the clock to ensure that anyone caught terrorizing the State is brought to book.
