Joy and excitement would largely describe the emotions that radiated from retired Professor of Educational Philosophy, Jim Nesin Omatseye, on Sunday, July 30, as he marked his 77^thbirth year.

Agile Omatseye, accompanied by his wife and children, entertained family and church members, including friends in a close-knit ceremony held at his abode in Ugbuwangue, Warri South council area of Delta state.

At the birthday bash, soft-toned music played in the background throughout as encomiums poured in for the celebrant who was decked in the traditional Itsekiri attire, a cream-coloured kemeje on lemon and gold-designed wrapper.

Guests were treated to delicious meals and assorted drinks.

Giving a toast, Rev. Justice C. Okoroji Jnr., the pastor of First Baptist Church, Warri, described him as a “no-nonsense man who does not fear whose ox is gored as long as long as he’s speaking the truth. He’s a man of truth, of impeccable character.” (The Nation)
