Nigeria has moved three spots upwards in the latest FIFA Rankings released today by the world football governing body.
The rankings show the Super Eagles of Nigeria occupying the 63rd position in the world and 12th in Africa. Nigeria was ranked 66th in January 2016.
Cote d’Ivoire still lead the top ten in Africa, despite losing nine steps in the world ranking to number 28. They are followed by Cape Verde Islands, Algeria, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Congo, Egypt, Congo DR and Guinea. Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions are on number 11th in Africa and number 62 in the world.
The rankings show Belgium still first in the world, with Turkey as the only new team to make it to the top 20, displacing Cote d’Ivoire in the process.
