NPC DG, Dr Raji-Mustapha
By ABUBAKAR YUSUF
Director-General of National Productivity Centre (NPC), Dr. Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha, says the Centre would deploy all its training skills and apparatuses to diversify the nation's economy.
Dr. Raji dropped this hint during a one-day workshop/event marking the 20th National Productivity Centre Day (NPD) for public servants held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, last Thursday.
The event, with the theme, “Diversification of the Nigerian economy, the productivity imperative,” was declared open by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Bassey Umo Eno, represented by the state Head of Service (HOS), Elder Effiong Essien.
According to Dr Raji, the NPC would be readily available to provide technical supports, coaching and mentoring the business community to become more productive and competitive.
He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s desire for a productive public service/ society at large was in line with the template of the Centre, so as to move the economy of the country forward and compete favourably locally and internationally was in tandem with the template of the Centre.
The DG said the role and awareness of the NPC was for Nigerians to see productivity as a panacea to economic realization in all spheres of national development.
“We do a lot of productivity training for public service and individuals,” Dr. Raji said, adding that, “the new office will be a veritable platform for collaborations towards quality productive society.”
He praised the state government for the success recorded in the event, stressing the need for other states to key into the laudable programmes of NPC.
