The results of the 2023 Cognitive/Placement Examination for primary six pupils, conducted on May 20 by the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, have been released.
A statement from the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, directed all chief inspectors of education (CIEs) in the 25 local government areas to proceed to the Department of Examinations and Standards of the ministry on Monday, July 3, 2023 to collect scratch cards that would enable the candidates to check their results.
The statement noted that 115,505 candidates registered for the examination, adding that out of the number, 114, 245 wrote the examination.
It indicated that 109,719 candidates representing 96% passed the examination while 4,526 representing 4% failure.
The statement advised candidates to follow the instructions on the scratch card to check the results.
Oghoro, in the statement, further said that successful candidates would be placed in JS 1 for the 2023/2024 Academic Session, scheduled to begin on September 11, 2023. (Delta State News Bulletin)
