A 25-year-old cattle rearer, MohammedAbubakar, has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital for allegedly inflicting bodily injury on a girl, Mohammed Aisha, over sex.
He was brought to court on two counts of causing grievous hurt and attempting to commit culpable homicide.
The offences contravened sections 246 and 299 of the penal code law of Kwara state.
According to the police’s first information report, the case was reported at Lafiagi Police Station by the Medical Director, General Hospital, Lafiagi, Dr. S.K Suleiman.
The charge sheet quoted Dr Suleiman that “The victim was brought for treatment where she narrated that she went to bush in searching for Shea butter with her two sisters Hassana and Adishetu.
“But they were attacked by the suspect, a Fulani, while the victim sustained deep injury cut on her head,” the sheet added.
The police toldthe court that “investigation revealed that the suspect demanded to have sex with the victim and her two younger sisters but they refused and ran for safety. (Courtesy, excluding headline, The PUNCH)
