Senate President Akpabio
Senator representing Niger East Senatorial district, Senator Sani Musa, has raised an alarm over a purported document circulating that shows how each Senator voted in the recent election of presiding officers in the Senate.
Senator Sani described the document as fake and stated that he voted in line with the aspiration of the President. He emphasized that the election has concluded, and all 109 Senators have committed to working together as one Senate for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation.
In a press statement from his media office, it was stated: “It is important to draw the public’s attention to the widely circulated document that contains the voting choices of Senators and the candidates they voted for.
“After carefully reviewing and scrutinizing the document, it is crucial for the creators of this fake news to explain how 64 votes were recorded for Senator Godswill Akpabio instead of the actual 63 votes he received. Similarly, how did Senator Abdulazeez Yari score 45 votes in the document instead of the correct 46 votes?
“A thorough review of the document clearly shows that the authors are attempting to sow discord between the APC NWC, the Presidency, the current President of the Senate, and some Senators.
“We categorically state that the list is fake. How did the creator of that list know how Senators voted? The motive behind this list is known only to the author, who thinks based on their own perception. We urge the general public to ignore it.
“Senator Sani Musa voted in line with the aspiration of the President. The election has concluded, and the 109 Senators have committed to working together as one Senate for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation.
“The public should exercise caution with this kind of blackmail, which is often spread on social media and other media platforms.” (Nigerian Tribune)
