The battle between immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate in the February 25 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, over the SPV saga, has moved to the appellate court.

Keyamo’s suit to compel the investigation of Atiku over alleged use of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to siphon public funds while in office as Nigeria’s vice President had been dismissed on Monday by a Federal High Court in Abuja, but he vowed to appeal the verdict.

True to his words, Keyamo yesterday (Tuesda) filed an appeal against the ruling of the Hon. Justice J.K Omotosho.

”We have raised an initial four grounds of appeal with a possibility of raising additional grounds of appeal,” Keyamo Chambers said in a statement signed by John Ainetor, Esq., Assistant Head of Chambers, Abuja Office.

He noted that, “Mr. Keyamo has a rich history of taking it upon himself to challenge unconstitutionality, corruption and the breach of the rule of law by public officials. Like ALL lawyers from time immemorial, he has won some, lost some and some are still pending in court. That is what the struggle is all about. And that is THE SAME SITUATION with our legal icons of blessed memories.”

“This case is not an exception. The battle will be taken all the way to the apex court. Mr. Keyamo is not about to back down now,” the statement added.
