Innoson Chairman Innocent Chukwuma receiving Miss Ejikeme Joy in his Nnewi office
Indigenous vehicles manufacturer, Innoson Motors, has awarded a N3 million scholarship to 16-year-old Ejikeme Joy, the overall best-performing candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB).
Innoson Chairman and CEO, Mr Innocent Chukwuma, announced the scholarship award when he personally received Miss Ejikeme Joy in his Nnewi office, Anambra State, on Monday. He said the scholarship award was meant to enable the brilliant student, the daughter of an okada rider (commercial motorcyclist), to pursue her university education with ease over the next five years.
According to Cornel Osigwe, Innoson’s Head of Corporate Communications, the company will continue to demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility through various initiatives such as scholarship awards, job creation, and support for local communities.
A student at Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra Satte, Ejikeme Joy scored 362 in the 2023 UTME.
