Boxing gloves
A 56-year-old former boxer named Moses Olapade beat his wife, Tinuke, into a coma over a TV remote.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident happened at their home in Akure, the state capital of Ondo State, in the Oke-Aro Community.
Upon his return from his trip, Olopade wanted to watch a television program. However, his wife refused to give him the remote control to select his chosen station, which led to an argument and a subsequent free-for-all, from a source who does not want to be named.
The wife was allegedly punched by Olopade, a truck driver, in a fit of rage, causing her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.
According to the source, the neighbours were called to the scene as a result of the children’s screams. The victim was hurriedly taken to a local hospital, where she was revived.
However, when called, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state police public relations officer, stated that she had not yet received a briefing on the situation.
I called the DPO of the Area (B Division Police Station), but he said the issue wasn’t recorded there, according to the PPRO. (New Telegraph)
