The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Presidential Candidate in the just- concluded general elections, Justice Peter Umeadi, has been nominated for President’s Medal Award at the forthcoming Nigeria Scout Parade and President’s Award (NISPPA 2023).

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, Secretary-General of the Organization of The Scout Movement, Ahmad Alhendawi, Africa Regional Director of Scout, Dr. Frederic Tutu Kama-Kama; and top Nigerian government functionaries and actors, captains of industries, the diplomatic community and the general public are expected to grace the occasion.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary General of The World Organization of The Scout Movement would take the salute and decorate deserving role models of young people with Special Medals.

A letter of invitation to Justice Umeadi which was signed by the Chief Scout Commissioner of Nigeria, Dave Padopads –Awunah, stated that the Nigeria Scout Parade and President’s Awards was an event created for the purpose of enhancing the much needed cohesion among members of the Nigeria scout family, Nigerian children, heralding and promotion of scouting among young people of Nigeria.

It is also for awards to our young people who are contributing towards the growth of their communities, long service awards for old scouts who are role models to the younger generations and a firm pledge of loyalty and commitment to the unity of Nigeria through scouting.

The letter stated that young Scouts and adult leaders across the 37 State Scout Councils of Nigeria would converge to reaffirm their pledge to the oneness of the unique scout neckerchief in the diversity of Nigeria on one common ground.

The letter reads in part: “We write with utmost humility to inform and request your esteemed participation as you receive a President’s Medal Award for Service to Nigeria through Scouting at the Nigeria Scout Parade and President’s Awards tagged, NISPPA 2023.

“The Nigeria Scout Parade and President Awards is an event created for the purpose of enhancing the much needed cohesion among members of the Nigeria scout family, Nigerian children, heralding and promotion of scouting among young people of Nigeria, awards for our young people who are contributing towards the growth of their communities, long service awards for old scouts who are role models to the younger generations and a firm pledge of loyalty and commitment to the unity of Nigeria through scouting. “Young Scouts and adult leaders across the thirty-seven state Scout Councils of Nigeria in their thousands of like-minded young Nigerians will be reiterating their pledge to the oneness of the unique scout neckerchief in the diversity of Nigeria on one common ground.”
