The governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has announced a 23-man transition committee ahead of May 29 swearing-in of the governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP). The 23-man committee, chaired by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chris Ezem, comprises of some serving commissioners and others from the Alex Otti’s camp.

A statement issued by Ezem on Saturday disclosed that the committee members would be inaugurated by 1pm.on Wednesday, April 19 at the office of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Umuahia. The statement stated that the job of the committee members would be to oversee what it described as a seamless transition from the present Peopls Democratic Party (PDP) led government to the incoming administration.

The statement announced Secretary to the State Government as Chairman, Hon. Commissioner for Works – Member, Hon. Commissioner for Environment – Member, Hon. Commissioner for Information- Member and Hon. Commissioner for Homeland Security – Member.

Others include Hon. Commissioner for Public Utilities – Member, Hon. Commissioner for Health – Member, Hon. Commissioner for Trade & Investment- Member, Hon. Commissioner for Strategy & Communication – member, Chief of Staff Government House – member, Executive Secretary/ Permanent Secretary, State Planning Commission- member, Accountant General of the State- member and Rt. Hon. Barr. Chinedu Elechi – member, among others. (The Nation)
