Gunmen have kidnapped three persons along Isinigbo-Odegede Road near Igoba in Akure North Local government area of Ondo State.

Witnesses said the kidnappers abducted four persons on Friday night but one of them escaped.

Names of the victims were given as Mr Omololu Adeseye, Mr Paul and another man popularly called Vulcaniser in the area.

The Obaloogun of Igoba, Oba Adinlewa Adeniyi, in a brief statement appealed to relevant agencies to beef up security in the area.

A 14-year-old boy, Marvelous Ayomide Ogunjolu, has miraculously escaped from his abductors.

Marvelous was kidnapped along Ojomu’s palace in Owo, Owo local government area while returning from an errand.

His abductors took him to Ondo City in Ondo West local government area.

They abandoned him due to his cries when he saw police patrol vehicle in the area.

According to him: “My father sent me to buy toothpaste in the afternoon. And on my way back from the shop where I bought the toothpaste, I saw some men and they asked me to follow them. They warned me not to shout or they will kill me with a gun.

“I was afraid. So, I went with them, because I didn’t want them to kill me. All along, I was crying. They drove through Akure to Ondo and later to Ore.

“They came back to Ondo. I was in the car, when I saw a police car coming and blowing sirens. So, I started shouting for help. The kidnappers were afraid and they drove off to a street and dropped me there.

“When I asked passersby for the name of the street, I was told it is called Akinjagunla. I want to call my daddy to tell him that I am in Ondo now.”

Ondo Police spokesman, SP Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya, could not be reached for comments. (The Nation)
