Late Abia founding father, Dr Onyike James Onyike
One of the founding fathers of Abia State, Dr. Onyike James Onyike, has died suddenly, his family has said.
“The Onyike family of Eluama, Isuikwuato, Abia State regrets to announce the sudden passing of its patriarch and leader Dr. Onyike James Onyike, Enyi Abia on the 13thof March 2023 in Owerri, Imo State,” the family said Thursday in a terse statement on its behalf by Dr. Chiadi Onyike and AVM Chinwendu Onyike.
It disclosed that “Funeral arrangements will be communicated by the family in due course.”
News Express reports that the late elder statesman was active in Abia affairs till death, one of his recent interventions being his advocacy for the 2023 Abia governorship to be zoned to Isuikwuato in keeping with the Aba Charter of Equity, of which he was one of the signatories.
