Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has urged the Ubah family to keep the good legacies of their father, Comrade Peter Nkachukwu Ubah by sustaining his good name and image.

He gave the charge during the burial mass of the father of Transition Committee Chairperson for Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi at St Peter’s Clavers Catholic Church, Otolo Nnewi, Anambra State.

While emphasizing that the late Ubah lived a good life, Soludo said, “I urge the family to sustain the legacies of the deceased. This occasion is a celebration of a life well lived.

“We’ve come to celebrate a life well lived. When someone dies, his work is what is usually remembered. In the case of late comrade Ubah, he is remembered today, having served as leader of all teachers in the old Anambra and the pioneer chairman of NUT.

“We pray that his soul will be accepted by God. As his children, you should sustain his legacy.

“It appears the Ubah family live a life of service. His daughter, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi is rendering service to humanity, starting from WIGA and an astute Soludo apostle.”

The governor said that Anambra will continue to grow in all facets of development and human endeavor, even as he prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Ubah.

In his homily, the Chaplain of St. Luke’s Chaplaincy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Rev. Fr. Anthony Kizito Okonkwo spoke on the theme, “A good name is better than riches’.

He said, "Anyone who loves and follows Jesus Christ understands this principle. Can God attest to your lifestyle if you drop dead today?

“To the family, no matter the tributes you give to your late father, the most important thing is for you to ensure that one of your father’s legacies- his good name, is sustained.”

Rev Fr. Okonkwo further charged the deceased family to always strive to live in love and unity, adding, “May God help us to live a life of purity.”

Late Ubah died at the age 82.
