KEFFES Chairman, Matthew Sele-Epri
The Chairman of KEFFES Rural Development Foundation in Bayelsa, Mr Matthew Sele-Epri, has said that report of his purported impeachment was a joke and as such, laughable.
KEFFES which stands for Koluama 1 and 2, Ezetu 1 and 2, Foropa, Fish Town; Ekeni, and Sangana oil-rich communities on Southern Ijaw and Brass Local Government Areas is located along the Atlantic coastline in Bayelsa.
Sele-Epri in a statement on Thursday explained that his response was to set the records straight and not to allow falsehood to thrive before right-thinking members of the public and KEFFES stakeholders in general.
He said the meeting which held on January 27 was presided over by himself from the start to the end.
He said at no time did suspension or impeachment form part of the said meeting agenda.
He enjoined the general public to dismiss the impeachment in its entirety as he remains the chairman of KEFFES RDF and Ngozi Amachree is the secretary of the foundation as there is no iota of truth in their claims.
The KEFFES foundation had in a statement issued by Mrs. Maureen Alamene said they have suspended and removed Sele-Epri from office as Chairman of the foundation.
They said the erstwhile Chairman was served suspension notice on January 27, 2023 and later removed from office on grounds of alleged gross misconduct in line with the constitution of KEFFES Rural Development Foundation, 2011 as amended.
In the notice of removal from office dated January 31, 2023 and signed by Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Alamene and Assistant Secretary, Promise Ebitimi Kemelayefa; the body said the mantle of leadership has been taken over by its Vice Chairperson.
