Hadiza Kuburat Umar Suleiman yesterday emerged a proud winner of an exquisite 4-bedroom duplex in the bi-monthly draw of Fidelity Save 4 Shelter Savings promo conducted in Lagos. The duplex, a masterpiece of modern architecture, is located at Lingo Estate, Lokogoma Abuja. Strategically designed to advance government’s financial inclusion policy, the promo, is part of the Bank’s earnest contribution towards bridging Nigeria’s housing deficit.

In the monthly draw held at the bank’s corporate head office in Lagos, six customers emerged winners of Rent Support worth N6 million while 12 other customers were pronounced winners of consolation prizes such as fridges and generating sets. Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi Okonkwo, at the draw, said that the initiative also raises awareness on the need to acquire a savings culture amongst the Nigerian populace.

Alluding to the correlation between savings and economic development, Okonkwo explained that savings serves as a veritable instrument for capital mobilisation to finance aggregate investment required for economic growth. “As an active participant in the economy, we are supporting the government of Nigeria by making savings available for national development”, he added. For transparency and credibility, the draw was conducted with representatives of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Consumer Protection Council (CPC) in attendance.

Speaking with journalists at the draw, NLRC Head of IT, Ozobialu Olisa, commended Fidelity Bank for the initiating the promo, adding that loyal customers ought to enjoy this type of benefits because it encourages savings culture. “Fidelity constantly complies with the regulatory mandates of the commission. “As we have observed today, the draws were transparent,” he added. Two other duplexes located in prime locations in Lagos, Port Harcourt, are still up for grabs in subsequent bi-monthly draw.

200 winners are expected to emerge throughout the duration of the promo which is open to all savings Accounts customers of the bank.
