AEDC boss, Engr Fadeyibi

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, would be honoured with an award of Icon of Peace by Global Alliance for Peace and Unity (GAPU) at its Ist Peace Roundtable holding on December 9, 2022 at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja.
A statement issued at the weekend by the Planning Committee Chairman, Comrade Kelvin Peters, said that the other people to be given awards include Governors Abdullahi Sule, Yahaya Bello and Seyi Makinde of Nasarawa, Kogi and Oyo States respectively. They would receive Icon of Peace awards at the event.
The statement also listed others awardees with the Icon of Peace Award as the Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, AVM Monday Morgan (Rtd), a former Chief of Defense Intelligence of the Armed Forces, Alh. Muhammed Shehu; Mallam Shittu Kabir, Engr Olushola Akintola, Joseph Oche and the Minister of State for FCT, Dr Ramatu Aliyu.
Others include; Minister, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Deputy Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim, Chief Gabriel Gbayan, Director, National Audit, Matthew Burkaa (SAN), President of ALGON, Kolade Alabi, Director General, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Alh. Salihu Dembos, Jonathan Gbefi, Cp Balarabe Sule, HRH Dr Shehu Yamusa and Bishop Israel Ofunne.
According to the statement, the statement that GAPU recognises peace builders who have made substantial contributions in preventing conflict, combatting violence and building peace, hence the awards.
“The award is bestowed upon distinguished individual(s) who have made substantial contributions to maintaining peace, contributions that have led in direct ways to improving the human condition.
“The recipients have demonstrated through their accomplishments their commitment to service for the greater good of the society,” the statement concluded.
Adeoye Fadeyibi has two decades of professional experience in the power industry.
He started his career at General Electric (GE), where he held different positions between 2000 to 2013 and rose to the position of Sales Director for GE Energy covering the Middle East and African Regions
In 2013, he was appointed Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Power Limited (TPL), Ugheli, Delta state, a 1000 MW generation company and one of the six generation assets of the erstwhile Power Holding of Company of Nigeria(PHCH).Under his direction and a testament to his assiduous work ethics ,TPL grew from 160MW of available capacity at handover.
After making his mark in the power generation section, Engr. Adeoye moved downstream along the electricity power sector’s value chain into the electricity distribution sub-sector where he assumed office as the MD/CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company EKDC on January 2018. As at March 2022, he was called on a national assignment to steer the turnaround of AEDC.
He is a member of professional bodies and associations as well as non-professional memberships.
