The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice has passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE, over what it described as his sterling and transparent leadership at the Commission.
Speaking during a visit on Thursday, the group’s National Coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo, lauded Amshi “on his exemplary leadership quality, service delivery, and strict adherence to the relevant statues establishing the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).”
He particularly praised the leadership on the recent appointment of the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal, with the pledge to end perennial labour issues between National Assembly workers and NASC.
Okoronkwo urged stakeholders and the general public “to discountenance the atrocious campaign of calumny against NASC chairman” in some quarters.
Responding, Engr Amshi said that he saved the nation huge revenue by building the permanent site of NASC headquarters at the National Assembly Complex.
He thanked the coalition for the solidarity visit, maintaining that Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal’s appointment as the Acting CNA “is meritorious and in consonance with relevant provisions of the NASC Act.”
