Obi and Soludo embracing in church on Thursday

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, and the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, on Thursday met at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Church, Awka, during the Thanksgiving Mass for the Catholic Archbishop of Awka, Most Rev. Paulinus C. Ezeokafor, in celebration of his 70th birthday.
Just before the mass started, the Governor stepped out from the pew and walked over to where the former governor was seated to greet him, welcoming him to the capital city.
Obi responded enthusiastically, swiftly rising to his feet for a hug amid smiles – to the admiration of the congregation.
The action of the two illustrious Anambra sons poured cold water on the tension arising from recent attacks on Obi – first in a TV interview and later via a controversial public letter – by Soludo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
