Gunmen have reportedly killed a former Commissioner for Rural Development in Enugu State, Gab Onuzulike.
Onuzulike, who was also a former Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area, was killed alongside his elder brother, Elvis.
They were reportedly shot dead on Friday evening at Nkpokolo Achi, while returning from a burial ceremony in the area.
A source, however, said a team of security men gave the gunmen a hot chase, killed one of them, and arrested another member of the gang.
Police in Enugu State have yet to make an official statement on the incident.
Efforts to reach the state Command’s spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful as he did not answer his calls as the phone rang out. (Text, excluding headline: The PUNCH)
