Astute educationist and administrator, Prof Cletus Ngozi Uwazurike KSM, is dead. He died on October 25, 2022 — exactly 15 days after he marked his 68th birthday.

Announcing his death and burial date, his brother, popular Lagos lawyer and activist, Goddy Uwazurike, said in a message to News Express: “We are in mourning as our brother and head of the Uwazurike Family, Prof Cletus Ngozi Uwazurike KSM, former Provost of Alvan Ikoku College of Education Dean of Education Imo state University, member 2005 Constitutional Conference of Nigeria, a community leader and a motivator joined the Saints Triumphant on October 25, 2022. Burial is on Dec 23, 2022 @ Umunakanu Ehime Mbano LGA Imo State.”

Born on October 10, 1954, late Cletus Ngozi Uwazurike had his early and secondary education in old Imo State before proceeding to Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, 1977-80. He later attended Eastern Michigan University, USA, 1980-83; and University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, 1986-89.

An expert in Educational Management and Planning, late Prof.Uwazurike lectured variously in Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Abia State University, Uturu, and Imo State University, Owerri, before being appointed Provost of Alvan Ikoku College of Education in 2001.

A highly respected community and Church leader, the late erudite Professor was honoured with several chieftaincy titles, including Ikemba, Ahaejiagamba and Enyioha.

He is survived by his wife, Dr Mrs. Ndidi Uwazurike LSM, sons, Ik, Chuma, and Chigozie; daughter in law, Mrs. Fresher Uwazurike and grandchildren, and brothers, Prof Chudi Uwazurike, Bar Goddy Uwazurike KSM, sisters Eziada Elizabeth Nwachukwu, Dr Mrs. Evelyn Nwadinobi, Dr Mrs. Justina Chukwu and HRH Ugoeze Ijeoma Aguh.

He is also survived by Dr Johnkay Nwadinobi, Dr Enj. Johnny Chukwu, HRH Eze B. Aguh, Dr Mrs. Josephine Uwazurike, Lolo Chioma Uwazurike, Lolo Tonia Uwazurike LSM and Cindy Uwazurike.
