The kinsmen of Charles Asikogu (real names Emmanuel Chima Ukazu) a Sergeant of the Imo state Police command, have petitioned the Assistant Inspector of General in charge of zone 9, Umuahia alleging that he had joined the Nigeria Police with forged certificates .
They also accused the state command of allegedly aiding and abetting the criminal activities of the said Sergeant Asikogu who is attached to Scorpion Tactical Team of the State command
Mr Collins Mmewurum and Pastor James Umunna Igwe, indigenes of Obibi Ogbaku in Ogbujioma autonomous community in Mbaitoli council area of the state, kinsmen to Charles Asikogu (Emmanuel Chima Ukazu), in a petition through their counsel R.U Maduakolam allegedly accused the Provost Marshall of the Imo state Police Command of collusion with Sergeant Asikogu who is attached to the Scorpion tactical team of the command as he has refused to investigate the case brought before his him.
In the petition to the Assistant Inspector – General of Police zone 9, dated November 3, 2022 and made available on Wednesday which read, it is worrisome and unacceptable that the Provost Marshall of the Imo state command has allegedly compromised his duties as demanded by his office to investigate a case of Impersonation,forgery against one Mr .Charles Asikogu (Emmanuel Chima Ukazu), a serving Sargent of State Command attached to the Scorpion tactical team.
A case was brought against him but the office of the Provost Marshall of the Imo state police command has allegedly compromised by neither investigating nor prosecuting of the case. Charles Asikogu has without recourse to the petition against him has gone ahead to illegally sold the family land measuring 40 plots ,and worse of all he is being shielded by the command .He has also continued to harass and intimate members of the family using members of his Scorpio tactical team .
”We, therefore use this medium to crave your attention to the obstruction of justice and investigation ,threat to life by the Provost Marshall and Asikogu ( Emmanuel Chima Ukazu) to members of the family,” the petitioners said. (Daily Sun)
