The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), is set to hold an international conference on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. The conference, according to the premier Chamber of Commerce and one of the leading voices in the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in Nigeria, is part of activities lined up for this year’s Lagos International Trade Fair which commences on Friday, November 6.
Tagged LCCI INVEST 2015, the conference which is billed to hold at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, is expected to bring together major players in the various sectors of the economy, especially the non-oil sectors. This is to enable businesses align with the economic diversification and long term sustainability of the Nigerian economy.
Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Muda Yusuf said: “The major objectives of the conference include, but not limited to: institutionalizing a mechanism for annual consultations between local and international investors; facilitating the removal of impediments to local capital formation and entrepreneurial aspirations; expanding access to finance to investors; raising the visibility of Lagos State and indeed Nigeria as a key destination for both foreign portfolio and foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as increasing the competitiveness of Nigeria as an investment destination in Africa”.
He added that, “the one-day conference is a prestigious business event that will take the form of dialogue sessions on various sectors of the economy and will give room for business-to-business (B2B) networking leading to the development of the Nigerian economy.
Subject areas to be discussed include: Creating an enabling investment climate; Achieving self-sufficiency in food production; Turning around the Distribution companies for efficient service delivery, amongst others.
