Following the discovery of 10 mysterious bodies on a bush path by the Ibillo-Lampese Road, on the Lagos-Abuja Expressway. The Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Mohammed Dankwara, yesterday vowed to fish out the culprits behind the death of the victims.
Dankwara in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chidi Nwabuzor, a Superintendent (SP), said the operatives of Ibillo divisional headquarters were called to the scene by concerned citizens.
He said: “The DPO of Ibillo said he received the information that some bodies were sighted and he immediately mobilized his operatives, vigilance group members and hunters to the scene, where they met the ten male bodies. Preliminary investigation shows there was no noticeable mark of violence or materials that might lead to identifying the bodies.
“Investigation was also extended to the Fulani/Hausa communities and the people of indigenous communities who came, examined the bodies, and declared that they were not natives of their villages. The bodies have since been deposited at the Ibillo General Hospital’s mortuary, for preservation and forensic investigation.”
The commissioner pleaded that anyone with useful information that might lead to uncovering of the cause of death of the young men, and also that could lead to the possible arrest of the suspects should call: 08051010829, 08036695572, 08034702270 and 08033726625.
