Senate President Lawan
By ABUBAKAR YUSUF
The Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi, has congratulated Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, on his recognition and Public Service award of Parliamentary Excellence by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Engr Kadi, in a statement issued over the weekend and which he personally endorsed, said the award was well deserved, given Senate President’s unequalled record of achievements as a parliamentarian and, of recent, the leadership of the National Assembly.
According to Kadi, the leadership of Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan in the 9th National Assembly has brought rancour-free interaction and interface between the Executive and the Legislature, as both two arms of government have been seen as partners in progress in the last three and half years.
Kadi lauded the January to December budget cycle that has brought synergy, sanity, transparency and accountability, as well as discourage sharp practices and corruption in the system.
“The budget cycle from January to December has stabilised the economy of Nigeria, activities of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the face of global financial crises and world-ravaged health pandemic of COVID,” Kadi said.
The NASC Chairman maintained that the Senate President has written his name in gold, in view of his numerous achievements from the conducts of the federal lawmakers and public service, that have restored the prestige of the legislative arm as watchdog in terms of due process and due diligence over other arms of government.
He wished Lawan more triumph and good legacies as he journeys through the turbulent water of politics and public service.
