Dee Jee Maya
The Voice of the People 90.3 FM DJ, DJ Maya, (real name: Jeremiah Onyeka) has won the Icons Most Dynamic Dee Jee of the Year award.
The award ceremony which held at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, was organised by Great Emerald Multi Services.
According to the organisers, “Icons noble award is an annual event to recognise and appreciate personalities, corporate bodies, organisations, professionals and celebrities who have distinguished themselves in different areas of human endeavour.
They said that 2022 was the Seventh edition of the award and that the theme of this year is: “Honouring emerging icons.”
Speaking further, they said that Dee Jee Maya was selected for his creativity on the consul and microphone, as well as for his efforts in encouraging and supporting youths to go into the disc jockeys business.
They said that over the years, Maya has single-handedly organised events like battle of the mic, rap; Maya dance battle, Maya Mic Best, among others. Responding, Dee Jee Maya expressed appreciation for the recognition. He said that it would encourage him to do more.
