Ebonyi AA 2022 guber candidate Nwandugo
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The Gubernatorial Candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Ebonyi State, Engr. Chukwuma Nwandugo, has hailed the Court of Appeal ruling on the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as historic.
Nwandugo added that the landmark judgement has the capacity of making the Igbo feel that they have never been neglected by the Nigerian system.
He said he was personally impressed by the Appeal Court judgment that eventually freed Nnamdi Kanu from the terrorism charges brought against him by the federal government last Thursday, October 13, 2022.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Friday, the Governorship Candidate said the landmark judgment should be hailed by all Biafrans and all lovers of the Igbo because of what it stands for in the South-East geo-political zone.
“We are happy at this cheering news, because Kanu’s release will usher in some level of peace and cohesion in Igbo land,” Nwandugo said.
According to the statement, the judgment was an historic one and should remind all Igbo that they were still part and parcel of the Nigerian system.
“It should cause them to be conscious of the fact that, in a united Nigeria, we can still flourish and achieve our poised dream to better our lots. I hail this judgment and it means a lot to us all,” he added.
He, therefore, urged all the elders, leaders and stakeholders of Igbo land to take step that would forestall all acts or actions that would lead to the rendition of Nnamdi Kanu again.
