The Ibaji Unity Forum in Nigeria and the diaspora has sent a letter of appreciation to the Catholic community in Idah, Kogi State, led by the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, Most Reverend Dr Anthony Ademu Adaji, for her timely interventions in evacuating and providing accommodation, including food to their helpless kinsmen spread across ten wards of the local government area, in the church’s efforts to rescued residents from the flood disaster in the area.

A statement signed by the President and Secretary of the forum, Barrister Stephen Uchola and Engineer Henry Akoje, says the usual practice by the Catholic Diocese of Idah was a demonstration of evangelism through charity, a feat they have sustained over the years.

The Ibaji Unity Forum asserts that the on-the-spot-assessment to ascertain the level of damage showed that the humanitarian gesture and timely intervention by the Catholic Diocese saved a lot of critical conditions of the people of Ibaji, particularly, the riverine area.

The forum used the opportunity to express its deepest appreciation to the Catholic Community for her continuous show of love to the Ibaji communities in Kogi State during crisis situations.
