News Express Regional Editor Garba Muhammad, flanked by well-wishers, displaying his award
News Express Regional Editor, Garba Muhammad, has bagged The Hero of the Moment and Best Performing Journalist award in Nigeria.
Kaduna State Likeminds Initiatives Support Foundation in collaboration with GH Foundations presented the award at a Round Table Dialogue on Maternal and Child Health in Kaduna state held on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Abdullahi Ibrahim Gambo, leader of the joint foundation team, while presenting the award said: “Comrade Garba Muhammad – Dallatun Kinkinau, Member, NIPR Kaduna Chapter and former NUJ Chairman Kaduna Council, Member, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Member, Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers – is today (Tuesday) awarded #The Hero of the Moment and Best Performing Journalist Since 20 Years in Nigeria.
“The awardee, Comrade Garba Muhammad, is the best living hero, a legend, and a visionary leader, the best among equals a veteran journalist who carried everyone along with a good leading track record in the past 20 years in Kaduna and Kebbi states.”
Dr. Jamila Dahiru Mohammed, a lecturer with the Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, and Secretary Knowledge Management and Communications committee (KMC) of Kaduna Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM), while expressing appreciation on behalf of the awardee, also said: “We are a witness to these attributes and many more and so we join in to congratulate Alhaji Garba Muhammad for this merited and well deserved award.
“Among other attributes, the group considered Garba’s strong leadership skills, journalism expertise, selflessness, compassion, empathy and unwavering support rendered to colleagues and uplifting of journalism practice in Kaduna state, Kebbi and Nigeria at large.
“We pray that he continue to live by these attributes and lead by example,” Jamila added.
