Singers Tiwa Savage, Oxlade and Pheelz joined American R’n’B superstar, Usher Raymond on stage at different times at the just concluded 2022 Global Citizen Festival held in Accra, Ghana over the weekend.
Usher, who was the show’s top performer, brought them out to perform with him at the 20,000-capacity Black Star Square Accra Ghana.
Other global stars who performed at the festival were Tems, Stormzy, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, SZA and Sarkodie.
The annual festival seeks to bring together people of the world, artists and world leaders to ‘Take Action’ on the plan that focuses on empowering girls, children and women, defending the planet and creating change.
It took place on the same day at Central Park’s Great Lawn in New York City, with the Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Charlie Puth, and a host of others thrilling the fans in the United States.
World leaders and governments announced their support for ending poverty at the event.
They include Canada, Belgium, Denmark, the European Commission, Germany, Ghana, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, United Nations, and the United States.
US President Joe Biden also gave his remark in a video, he said: “It’s great to join you on the 10th year of this Global Citizen Festival; thank you for building this movement and making big things happen.” (Via The Nation)
