Nnamdi Kanu
Surprised by the recent outcry by the legal team of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on his deteriorating health because of his refusal of access to his personal physician, Igbo youths under the aegis of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, (COSEYL) has warned against the implications of allowing any harm befall him while in detention.
President General of the youth group, Goodluck Ibem in a statement he released to newsmen in Owerri has further appealed to the Federal Government to allow Kanu access to medication.
He said “It was brought to the notice of Igbo youths leaders by his legal team that ‘ Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently suffering from gastrointestinal illness, which necessitates and requires that he sees his doctor often for proper medication as ordered by the court of law.
“It is worrisome that he is not even allowed to use mere antacids to reduce the pain as prescribed by his physician. We call on the DSS to immediately allow Mazi Nnamdi Kanu free access to his medical doctors and family members as directed by the court.” Ibem appealed.(Daily Sun)
