Bandits
The attack at the Immigration Service Patrol Base by bandits along the Galadi-Birniwa axis in Jigawa State has claimed one life, while two other persons who sustained serious injuries are receiving medical attention at Birniwa General Hospital in Jigawa State.
Addressing a press conference at the State Immigration Services headquarters in Dutse, Jigawa State, the Immigration Comptroller, ACG Ismail Abba Aliyu, said the sad incident happened at 11.20 on Tuesday when bandits arrived at the patrol base on two motorcycles one carrying three and the second one conveying two persons.
According to the Comptroller, on the arrival of the bandits, they opened fire on the Immigration staff on patrol which resulted in the death of one of the staff namedAbdullahi Mohammed (CIA) and another two of the team members sustained serious bullet wounds, they are Abba Musa Kiyawa ( DSI) and Zubairu Garba (AII).
Aliyu further stated that as a result of the heavy exchange of fire, the bandits fled into the bush and abandoned their motorcycles and a handset (TecnoT5) belonging to the bandits. The two motorcycles are Bajaj with chassis number MD2 A18AXS7MWK81092 and the other motorcycle was if Royal motorcycle brand with the chassis number RY157FMINILI2607 indicating all are now in our custody.
Furthermore, the Jigawa Comptroller said the two wounded staff are being referred to a renowned General Hospital for proper medication and observation, while Abdullahi Mohammed (CIA) who lost his life in the encounter and has been laid to rest in Dutse town according to Islamic rites.
