Public-spirited Sgt Enoma Stephen
By TINA TIMOTHY
Amidst the present economic crunch, a Nigerian Police officer, Sgt. Enoma Stephen, who currently serves in Area Command, Ekpoma, Edo State, has distributed free fuel to motorcycle operators, popularly known as ‘okada’ riders, in Ekpoma.
In a recent video seen by News Express, the Police officer was being hailed at a filling station by okada riders as their vehicles were fuelled as directed by the good-spirited police officer.
When asked how he got the money to buy the fuel he donated, Sgt. Stephen disclosed that it was monetary gift he received during and after his father’s burial. He revealed and that he spent N42,000 on the fuel donated to 42 okada riders. “It is not that I did not need the money but it was an act to show love to them,” he told News Express.
Commenting further, Sgt. Stephen said that there were still good police officers, adding that he hoped that his action would help to clear negative impressions about the Nigerian Police Force.
In his words, “There are still Good police officers.
“This is an act to clear some impressions about the Nigeria Police Force. Love is the greatest; 42 people benefited. It cost me N42,000.”
“I got the money during and after the burial of my father. It was an act to show love to them,” the Police Sergeant said.
