UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital CMD, Prof Peter Olaitan

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has summoned the Chief Medical Director of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital (formerly LAUTECH Teaching Hospital), Osogbo, Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan, and five top officers to appear at the commission’s head office in Abuja to answer questions over “an alleged violation of the provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.” Those summoned to appear before the anti-graft agency with the CMD are the Bursar, Chief Accountant and three other officers, namely, Prof. Fadiora Solomon Olufemi, Tajudeen Aderemi Popoola and Victor Oluseun Oloyede.
While the first two are to appear on July 28 and 29, 2022, the rest are to take their turn the next day.
They were summoned via a letter from the Commission’s Chairman, Prof Bolaji Owasonoye, sighted byNew Express, dated June 27, 2022, entitled “Investigation Activities” and signed by Head, Financial Investigation Division, Agoro O.M. FCA. In it, the commission asked all those invited to ensure to appear on their respective scheduled dates with details of all bank accounts operated by the university, including soft copies of statement of account from 2013 to date, personal bank statement of their accounts from 2013 to date, contract files/records of Star Global Marketing Ltd and 24 others, schedule of payments to contractors and the status of contract to date, including relevant payment vouchers, among other things.
The letter reads: “The Commission is investigating a case bordering on an alleged violation of the provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.
“Pursuant to section 28 of the said Act, you are requested to appear with the underlisted persons before the undersigned on their assigned date at the Commission’s Head Office Abuja at 10a.m prompt for interview.”
