SHOWDOWN: Oliseh, Enyeama clash in Super Eagles Camp

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed that there was a quarrel between Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh and the captain of the senior national team Vincent Enyeama in their training camp in Belgium.

The Eagles are in the European country to prepare for a couple of friendlies with DR Congo and Cameroon which come up this week.

Earlier Tuesday, reports from Belgium filtered in that Oliseh and Enyeama had a serious altercation and that the latter had been kicked out from camp.

Later in the day, the NFF moved to reassure Nigerians that the matter had been resolved and that Enyeama is back to camp.

“It’s true that there was a little misunderstanding in the camp of @NGSuperEagles, but the matter has been resolved. Enyeama remains in camp,” the NFF tweeted.

It is being speculated that the bad blood between the duo stems from Enyeama’s failure to report to the Eagles training camp on the build up to Oliseh’s first match as coach of the team against Tanzania in an African Nations Cup qualifier in Dar es Salam last month.

The 33-year-old Enyeama was later learnt to have lost his mother days before the game.

Carl Ikeme of Wolverhampton Wanderers deputised for Lille’s Enyeama in that game and put in a superlative performance to help Nigeria earn a point.
