The Edo state Football Association has demonstrated its unwavering desire to seeing football flourish at the grassroots level through its partnership with the Benin City Youth Club Owners Association (BYCOA).

The Edo FA and BYCOA are in partnership in the organization of the ongoing Benin City Youth League.

The prestigious competition features the 14 top youth clubs in Benin City and the 2022 season has got underway to an excitingstart.atthe Sports Crescent football died in Benin City, with many young players of the various academies showing lots of exciting stuff.

Emerging from a meeting held days ago between BYCOA and the Edo FA at the FA office in Benin City, the chairman of the state’s Football Association, Mr Roland Abu, expressed pleasure with the idea of the Benin City Youth League and stated that the FA would provide the enabling environment for the league to thrive.

Secretary of the Benin City Youth League, Mr Ken Ugbodagha, on behalf of BYCOA, thanked the Edo FA for the guidance they are providing for the Benin City Youth League to thrive.

“The Benin City Youth League is a program that is geared towards engaging about 1,000 youths for 4 months while hoping that the experience gained would hell the players to make progress to professional football. We appreciate the efforts of the Edo FA, ably led by Mr Roland Abu and the Secretary of the FA Elder Emmanuel Ajibola,” Abu said.

Season 2 of the Benin City Youth League kicked off on Wednesday, July 13, with BJ Foundation FC hammering Union Sportive FC 4-1 while Benin Warriors FC beat Rockers FC 1-0 in the top fixtures of the day.
