Reports have emerged that Arsenal FC of England Manager Arsene Wenger and his wife Annie have separated after months of speculations about their marriage.

Wenger (who is very mute about his private life) and his wife were said to have got a Paris judge to formalise their split through the issuance of a “separation of bodies” judgement in June.

Though this is not a full divorce, it gives both of them the right to see other people.

The Daily Star of UK quoted a source who said the couple “have not been happy for a

while, and they decided this was the best course of action to take.”

It is understood that Wenger will continue to provide financial assistance to Annie.

The pair, who got hitched in 2010, have a daughter named Leah.

It is not clear if both of them are still living together in their North London mansion.

Annie was a former basketball player.

Wenger had in the past admitted that his professional life has been a strain on his family life.

Some years ago he made this famous philosophical quote on sacrifice in one's personal life for a professional pursuit: “Any man who concentrates his energies totally on one passion is, by definition, someone who hurts the people close to him.”
