The College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti (COHESTI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kwara State University (KWASU), to run degree programmes and certified entrepreneurship courses.

The partnership which would afford the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, opportunity to admit students for Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and Environmental Health programmes, will also see COHESTI award National Diploma certificate in Entrepreneurship, with support from the University.

Describing the partnership as a boost for the College, the Provost, Dr.(Mrs.) Cecilia Adebayo, represented by her deputy, Mr. Kayode Abolarin, expressed optimism that the arrangement will enable COHESTI to cover more grounds and meet the yearnings of young school leavers and HND graduates desirous of a degree, either in Public health or Environmental Health.

Abolarin further assured that COHESTI will not lower her academic standard, being the premise upon which the affiliation was sought and approved.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of KWASU, Prof. Mustapha Akanbi, represented by the Varsity Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Kikelomo Sallee, said the university would always show interest in tertiary institutions willing to partner her, in giving quality education to teeming youths desirous of higher learning.

The MOU signing which held at KWASU Business School Ilorin was witnessed by COHESTI Registrar, Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, COHESTI Director of Affiliate Programmes, Mrs. Modupe Oshatuberu, and the College Legal Officer, Moses Adeojo.

Also in attendance were, KWASU Bursar, Malam Mohammaed A. Sanni and KWASU Director of Affiliations, Dr. Reuben Akano.
