Nigerian Army boxers mine gold, silver at African Games

The trio of Lance Corporal Kehinde Obareh, Lance Corporal Edith Agu and Private Caroline Linus of the Nigerian Army that are representing Nigeria in the Boxing event of the 11th All Africa Games have increased Team Nigeria’s gold and silver medal haul.

The Games, holding in Brazaville, Congo Republic, started September 3 and will end on the 19th.

“It will be recalled that Nigerian Army boxing team has been consistently coming out tops in competitions,” Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said. “The team won laurels in the pre-tournament event organised in Nigeria. Other Nigerian Army athletes are participating in other events of the African Games. More laurels are expected to be won by them for the nation,” Col. Usman added.
