Edo State Police CommissionerAbutu Yaro

Edo State’s new Commissioner of Police (CP) Abutu Yaro has deployed more armed policemen on Benin-Ore road, and on Benin-Asaba road as well as on Auchi-Okene road.
A dependable source close to the CP hinted that “the action of the CP is to ensure that travellers from the West, especially from Lagos and from Abuja, have a crime-free trip to the eastern part of the country during the Easter holiday.”
“You may agree that Edo State is the gate way from the West to the East going through Delta State,” the source said, adding: “In addition, the CP has ordered massive presence of armed policemen on Auchi-Okene road. Also in Benin metropolis there will be more policemen visible on Benin streets some will be in plain clothes.”
It will be recalled that Auchi-Okene road had been under siege by kidnappers waylaying travellers from Abuja via Kogi State to Edo and Delta states.
Abutu Yaro assumed duties on Monday, April 11, 2022, as CP, Edo State Police Command.
He is known as a crime buster who brought sanity to Imo State when he was CP at a time ethnic militias almost made the entire state unsafe, burning down police stations and killing policemen almost on daily basis. (Sourced from The SUPREME)
