Prof Chukwuma Soludo
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
An Anambra-based human rights activist and political analyst, Comrade Obi Ositadimma, on Tuesday said that the dispatch with which the new governor of the state, Prof Charles Soludo, came up with the list of his commissioner-nominees is an indication that he is prepared for the job at hand.
He hailed the fact that Soludo’s nominees are established professionals in their various fields.
Ositadimma, Coordinator, Recover Nigeria Project (RNP), also thumbed up the new Anambra State Governor for injecting youths into his cabinet which, according to him, is clear departure from the past.
He said: “I’m not surprised that a Nnewi businessman, Dr. Obinna Chima Ngonadi, has been nominated as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry that is a very welcomed development. So also are other nominees.”
Ositadimma spoke hours after the state House of Assembly confirmed that Soludo had nominated 20 persons for approval as commissioners.
The list of nominees selected from different Council areas in the state include, Mr Ifatu Chinedu Onejeme (Finance); Prof Offonze Amucheazi (SAN), (Lands); Engr Ifeanyi Okoma (Works and Infrastructure); Ms Chiamaka Helen Nnake (Budget and Economic Planning); Dr Afam Ben Obidike (Health); Mr Patrick Agha Mba (Youth Development); Mrs Ifeyinwa Mary Celline Obinabo (Women and Social Welfare); Dr Obinna Chima Ngonadi (Commerce and Industry); Engr Julius Mmelikam Chukwuemeka (Power and Water Resources); Prof Ngozi Theresa Chuma-Udeh (Education); Mr Paul Nwosu (Information); Dr Foster Ihejiofor (Agriculture); Barr (Mrs) Patricia Ifeoma Igwebuike (Transport); and Engr Felix Chinedu Odumegwu (Environment).
