The government of Zamfara says it will recruit 515 clinical and nonclinical staff as part of measures to bridge manpower gaps in secondary health institutions in the state.
Dr Bashir Maru, the Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Hospital Services Management Board disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Gusau, the state capital.
Maru said that Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara had directed the State Hospital Services Management Board to conduct the recruitment.
He said the recruitment was part of the administration’s resolve to strengthen the healthcare system in the state.
According to him, the 515 healthcare personnel to be recruited will include clinical and nonclinical personnel.
The board, the chairman said, has the responsibility for quality healthcare service delivery including recruitment and staffing of the state secondary health facilities in the state.
Maru said that the board was therefore, seeking eligible candidates to fill the vacancies in the 22 secondary health facilities (General Hospitals) and its other affiliates in the state.
He listed some of the positions to include medical doctors, nurses/midwives, pharmacists and radiography technicians.
Others include medical laboratory technicians, medical records technicians, dental technicians as well as drivers, wards attendants, artisans and security guards. (NAN)
