Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello
The State Executive Council (SEC) of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Niger State chapter has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the State Government over the non-implementation of the association’s demands.
They warned that failure to address issues raised on the expiration of the given ultimatum, the union would have no option but to take necessary action.
The ultimatum over its six demands was given to the Commissioner for Local Government, Internal Security, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.
The demands include the implementation of consequential adjustment i.e. Grade Level 7 above, including the implementation of all outstanding promotion as well as the implementation of domestic servant allowance for Grade Level 15 & 16 allowances for Grade Level 15 & 16 officers among others.
The union also demanded the implementation of annual increment from 2011 to date, the implementation of percentage payment of salaries to its staff in some local government areas of the state and the payment of October 2020 outstanding salaries of members of the union in Niger State.
The State Secretary of NULGE, Comrade Kolo Maigana, stated this in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Monday in Minna, the state capital.
Copies of the statement were also addressed to the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Wuse, the chairmen of the 25 Local Government Councils of the state, the ALGON chairman in the state and the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission among others.
